Airport Vehicle Positioning System(AVPS)

The Airport Vehicle Positioning System (AVPS) streamlines exchange of information between the control center and vehicles on the airport to reduce runway incursion and increase airport security. The information like the present positions of vehicles, no-entry areas, the state of vehicle movement in an airport, etc., will be shared by respective parties and vehicles via a dedicated network.

Features

Our system realizes features as below;

  • Sends a warning signal of the mobile terminal, alerting the driver that the vehicle is approaching to unauthorized areas.
  • Real-time vehicle locations and other critical information like unauthorized areas are exchanged between the control center and vehicles.
  • Displays information on mobile equipment of the vehicle driver.

This system permits the sharing, via a dedicated network, of information on vehicle positions, no-entry areas, the state of vehicle movements in the airport, etc., by a vehicle and the control station, and by different vehicles. This system, used in the Tokyo International Airport (Haneda Airport), is the first AVPS adopted by the Tokyo Regional Civil Aviation Bureau of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport for business use.
